Talk Fusion Founder & CEO Bob Reina: “Giving Back Means Getting Back”

At a Talk Fusion corporate event, Founder & CEO Bob Reina tells tells the Associates in the audience about the rewards of Servant Leadership and Giving BackThey say “Charity begins at home,” and it’s really true: giving back isn’t just lip service at Brandon-based video communications firm Talk Fusion. The company strongly promotes donating generously to charitable causes and giving back to the community.

That drive to “pay it forward” comes from Talk Fusion CEO and founder Bob Reina, an important quality that he likes to call Servant Leadership.

“It’s about having a selfless heart and lending a helping hand to reach out and change lives,” he says. “Giving back is more than a philosophy at Talk Fusion, it’s the corporate culture.” It stems from Bob’s enthusiasm for life, charity and the dream of helping people live life on their own terms, and it sets the example for Talk Fusion Associates to follow.

“With great success comes greater responsibility,” emphasizes Bob. This concept is an integral part of the Talk Fusion vision, which Associates worldwide have personally adopted, carrying the ideals of Servant Leadership across the globe to truly change the world for the better.

Talk Fusion Founder & CEO Bob Reina relaxes poolside with his rescue dog Bindi - a classic example of the rewards of Giving BackAs a respected member of the greater Tampa Bay community, Bob is frequently recognized for his many civic contributions and charitable donations. His benevolent nature shines through in everything he does, including his deep compassion for animals.

Bob lives by one of Talk Fusion’s company mottoes: “Speaking for Those Who Cannot Speak for Themselves.” He regularly demonstrates this sentiment through charitable donations to such organizations as the Hillsborough County Animal Services (HCAS) and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Lakeland.

That Bob’s charity comes from the heart is also evident at the office. His 3-legged rescue dog Bindi is a constant presence at Talk Fusion headquarters. Bob adopted Bindi from HCAS in 2008 after she lost one of her front legs to an alligator attack. He paid for life-saving surgery, and Bindi has since adopted the entire office staff and become a sort of company mascot. Most days, she accompanies Bob to work, welcoming visitors at the front door or lounging around waiting patiently for a doggie treat.

In fact, Bob’s idea of a charitable contribution is as outsized as the affection he has for his own houseful of dogs and cats: in 2012, he donated $1 million to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s new Animal Healthcare Center, the single largest donation in the organization’s 100 year history.

“Honestly, it’s the best million I’ve ever spent,” reflected Bob at the time. “I know that this endeavor will save thousands of lives by reducing companion and homeless animal euthanasia, as well as improving the quality of life of Tampa Bay pets and their owners.

“I’m just a big animal lover, and always have been. There are a lot of great causes in the world, but I have an affinity for pets and always have.”

Talk Fusion has been a strong booster of the SPCA, thanks to generous contributions from associates around the world. The company built a Feral Cat Patio to house and treat feral cats and aid in the SPCA’s Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate- Return Program, donating to the SPCA’s fleet of “Cat Vans” in the process.

Children from the House of Life Orphanage pose with attitude and gratitude for Bob Reina's generous donation of $100,000Another major example of the company’s Servant Leadership culture came the following year. Talk Fusion generously pledged $100,000 to the House of Life Foundation (Yayasan Rumah Kehidupan) orphanage in Surabaya, Indonesia in 2013. The orphanage was established to care for children saved from abortion by unwed mothers. The House of Life Foundation seeks to give these children a chance for a better life. Soon after Talk Fusion’s $100,000 contribution, there came an incredible outpouring of support and generosity from Talk Fusion Associates worldwide.

Priscilla Lydia Brocharda, House of Life Foundation Founder, expressed her gratitude: “From the deepest heart, I will say thank you for the donation Mr. Bob and [VP of Training & Development] Ms. Allison [Roberts] have given to the children of Yayasan Rumah Kehidupan. I pray that God always abundantly blesses them.”

Charities can use video email and newsletters to personalize messages to donors and constituents alike. As a leader in video technology, Talk Fusion connects people across the globe through their exceptional internet video communications and live video broadcasting, empowering them to live their dreams.

Talk Fusion also offers a unique opportunity to help people better their current circumstances through its Instant Pay compensation program for Sales Associates from all walks of life, in nearly 150 countries. These Associates are also encouraged to “pay it forward.”

And do they ever! From Grand Blue Diamond Ron Wright helping provide for tsunami victims in Japan to Talk Fusion Associates rallying to raise over $20,000 for a fellow associate stricken with cancer, the culture of caring at Talk Fusion is firmly ingrained in the company philosophy.

“You can create a prosperous future that benefits everyone around you,” says Bob. “When you embrace a Servant Leadership mentality and give back to friends, family, communities around the globe, and even the animals who offer us so much love and ask for so little in return, you help create positive changes for the entire world.

“When you join Talk Fusion, you get that chance to go out and make a difference…not only in your own life, but in the lives of others, too!”
